It is not our policy on the Drunk on Books Podcast to ever negatively review or disparage apiece of literature. We understand that the blood, sweat, and tears that every author puts into their work should be respected because it takes a lot of courage to share your innermost thoughts, fantasies, imaginings, etc. with the world. It ain’t easy ya’ll! Keeping that in mind, sometimes you start to read a book and it doesn’t work out the way you want it to. Maybe you don’t click with the characters, maybe the writing style is not for you, maybe you just ain’t with it, and that’s okay. Truly, it is! No shade, no tea. It just happens. But when it does, we believe in the old adage, “if you don’t have something nice to say, keep your damn mouth closed and sat down somewhere.” Therefore, we are changing the book that we originally scheduled for July 25, 2016, which was “The Princess Bride” by William Goldman. Instead, we are choosing an equally exciting book, “American Gods” by Neil Gaiman! We hope that you are just as hyped to read this new book as we are! We’ll see you on July 25th, and don’t forget out latest episode, “Merrick” by Anne Rice, will be available tomorrow, June 13, 2016.
